Jake’s Song

Jake’s Song
(words and music by my Daddy)

Look at him, how can it be?
He’s a piece of you, he’s a part of me.
Created in God’s image,
A gift from up above,
This tiny little baby,
Words can’t express our love.

How can we say “Thank You” God?
Our words don’t seem enough.
We feel so unworthy, Lord
We don’t deserve Your love.
You’ve given us our son,
Now we give him back to You.

Hold him in Your hands,
Mold him into a man
Who seeks to do Your will.
God hear this prayer that we lift to You
That he may follow in Your way.

Now I understand, it’s clear to me
How great the sacrifice upon that tree.
He was Your very image,
Your one and only Son.
The pain I can’t imagine,
But You knew it must be done.

How can we say “Thank You” God?
Our words don’t seem enough.
We know we’re so unworthy, Lord
We don’t deserve Your love.
You’ve given us Your son,
Now we live our lives for You.

The nails pierced His hands,
He bore the sins of man
So that we could be made new.
God may we be used by You
To lead others to You
God may he be used by You
Used by You.

God use our son to lead others to Your Son,
God use our son to lead others to You.

I hold him in my hands…now I understand.

Beautiful! I am sure God will indeed use Jake to lead others to His Son – as he grows up and learns to live for God!
