Check out the new “official” video Jason put together for our athlete friends in Italy. They have been getting more and more attention from the media, and as a result the website is getting many more hits. Just yesterday it received over 1,000 hits! Pray that those who visit the website will be impacted and challenged by the players’ testimonies. In case you have never been to the site, it is located at www.atletidicristo.org. It is all in Italian, but you can at least see the athletes who are doing their part in spreading the message of the Gospel. Pray for the group to continue to grow. They have tremendous potential for reaching many Italians.
Well it is finally starting to feel like Fall around here. We are loving the cooler weather. We have had a lot of fun Fall experiences in the last few weeks. I put together a little video for you all to see. We went to “Autumn at the Dallas Arboretum” with Grandpa Leo and Grandma Eddi. Jake and Julia loved all of the pumpkins, and we even got to pick one to take home and carve. It was our first pumpkin carving attempt, and we all had a good time. We also got to go to two different Fall festivals, put on by Arapaho Road Baptist Church and New Liberty Baptist Church. Jake dressed up as…you guessed it…a train, Julia was a ladybug, and Allyson and I were crazy Italian soccer fans!
Jake’s first experience in an organized soccer league has come to an end. He had such a good time playing on his team, The Flash. It was an Upward soccer league sponsored by Arapaho Baptist Church, which is located just down the road from where we are living. He made lots of new friends, and looked forward to every practice and game. Several of our family members were able to come and watch one of Jake’s games. After watching one of the games, Jake’s great-grandfather made the comment that he no longer needs to go to Blockbuster if he wants to see comedy…he just needs to come to a game
It is quite a treat getting to see 4- and 5-year-olds playing soccer.
I put together a “highlight reel” of the whole season for the kids and parents to watch at their end-of-season party. Here it is:
We spent a day at the Texas State Fair in downtown Dallas with Kal, Lucy and Hunter. It was Allyson’s first time there in over a decade (she used to go to the fair every year as a child). It was Jason, Jake and Julia’s very first fair experience! We all feel a bit more Texan after this experience
