Fun in the Fall!!!

Well it is finally starting to feel like Fall around here.  We are loving the cooler weather.  We have had a lot of fun Fall experiences in the last few weeks.  I put together a little video for you all to see.  We went to “Autumn at the Dallas Arboretum” with Grandpa Leo and Grandma Eddi.  Jake and Julia loved all of the pumpkins, and we even got to pick one to take home and carve.  It was our first pumpkin carving attempt, and we all had a good time.  We also got to go to two different Fall festivals, put on by Arapaho Road Baptist Church and New Liberty Baptist Church.  Jake dressed up as…you guessed it…a train, Julia was a ladybug, and Allyson and I were crazy Italian soccer fans!

Jake’s soccer season is over :-(

Jake’s first experience in an organized soccer league has come to an end. He had such a good time playing on his team, The Flash. It was an Upward soccer league sponsored by Arapaho Baptist Church, which is located just down the road from where we are living. He made lots of new friends, and looked forward to every practice and game. Several of our family members were able to come and watch one of Jake’s games. After watching one of the games, Jake’s great-grandfather made the comment that he no longer needs to go to Blockbuster if he wants to see comedy…he just needs to come to a game It is quite a treat getting to see 4- and 5-year-olds playing soccer.

I put together a “highlight reel” of the whole season for the kids and parents to watch at their end-of-season party. Here it is:

Jake and his soccer team, The Flash

Jake is having the opportunity to play in the Upward soccer league at Arapaho Road BC.  He is playing with other 4-5 year-olds and is having a blast.  His team is called “The Flash”.  They will be playing every Saturday morning until the beginning of November.  Jake enjoys scoring goals (even if they are not always on the right end of the field )  This is a video that I put together after Jake’s very first official game:
